Based on the theoretical derivation and related experiments, the resistance prediction formulas of the plate and W-shaped close-pleated carbon cloth chemical filters are given. The results show that the resistance of carbon cloth with a gram weight of 600-1 000 g/m2 is 20-300 Pa, with the increase of filtration rate, the resistance of carbon cloth increases, and there is a linear relationship between resistance and filtration rate. The resistance coefficient is affected by carbon content, carbon cloth material, gram weight, production technology and other factors, and the resistance coefficient of carbon cloth with 600-1 000 g/m2 is 350-700 Pa·s/m. At the same filtration rate, the resistance coefficient of the carbon cloth consisting of activated carbon and resin is less than that of the carbon cloth consisting of activated carbon with the same gram weight. The error between the theoretical value of the plate filter resistance and the measured value is less than 10%, and the resistance of the W-shaped filter is mainly caused by the resistance of the filter material.
